Read On Below! Wording and Photos From NIKE INC. In football, the national team kit is more than just a uniform. It’s a beacon of pride, a symbol of heritage and a cultural currency. The Nike Tight of the Moment x Federation Collection celebrates the culture of football with four tights inspired by the Brasilian, American, English and French national team kits. The patterns on the tights feature design elements from each team’s kit. Using body-mapping data provided by the Nike Explore Team Sport Research Lab, Nike designers were able to strategically place the patterns to highlight muscles and heating and cooling zones in a flattering fashion. “This collection is a tribute to both the body in movement and the summer of football,” says Julie Igarashi, Vice President of Global Design for Nike Women’s Training. “Female athletes can show their support for their favorite teams in style, no matter if they’re cheering in the crowd or doing box jumps in the gym.” The Nike Tight of the Moment x Federation Collection is a performance proposition. The patterns are printed on Nike Pro tights, which feature soft Dri-FIT fabric that pulls sweat away from the skin to help keep athletes dry and comfortable. Each of the tights in the collection has a matching Nike Free 1.0 Cross Bionic colorway. “Through interviews with athletes, we’ve learned that High Intensity Training is a preferred method of training for female football players,” says Igarashi. “So it’s fitting our signature High Intensity Training shoe, the Nike Free 1.0 Cross Bionic, is in the collection.” The NTM x Federation Collection will be available today in select retailers and on Nike.com |
